Justification
The demand for caregivers, both live in or in homes for the aged have never been higher as baby boomers require increased care and supervision, couple this with the increased demand for childcare with the ever-increasing associated costs; the demand for trained child caregivers is huge and growing, therefore the need for personal and home care aids to provide quality home-based services.

ICDC is committed to the development of opportunities for learning and training in a field that will directly affect the quality of life for family, friends and the community.
How
ICDC has developed a comprehensive series of on-line training courses covering every aspect of personal care for attendants, caregivers and nannies; it is also logical to add this type of training as the beginning to a career in nursing, the course has been designed in a modular format and provides a great introduction to health care in general and teaches all the necessary skills that are valuable when dealing with medical issues, general healthcare and specific safety and health requirements in everyday Canadian / western life.
Every training module
has a clearly defined series of objectives, an outline of what key points are covered, definitions, a professionally produced Power Point presentation, often followed by a DVD to review or summarize each of the presentations main points and is supported with full colour quality manuals and concludes with a multiple choice examination, with a Diploma to those who successfully complete the comprehensive 80 hour course

Dr. Bill Pomfret
Dr. Bill Pomfret is a best-selling author, speaker and dynamic presenter, who has traveled the world educating and motivating management and employees to adopt effective health, safety and risk control policies; practices and procedures that prevent or mitigate human, economic and environmental losses from adverse occupational exposures.
He has developed and implemented many Occupational Health Safety and Environmental models and was Professor who taught many systems, practices and procedures at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He has been an expert Witness in every Province, except Quebec for twenty years. Dr. Pomfret designed and developed the International Caregivers Development Center in 1975, and has trained hundreds Live-in Caregivers in the Philippines, and found them live in caregiver positions in Canada. Dr. Bill has audited many homes for the aged in over 40 countries and trained over 2000 Certified Accredited Auditors.
He started his career with Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) and then spent many years in the North Sea offshore oil industry. He received his doctorate in education and his master’s in occupational safety and health from the University of Aston in the U.K. Dr. Bill is actively involved in presenting Crisis and Emergency response training programs on many specific aspects of identified loss prevention Train the Trainer needs throughout the world,
